EADS NV manufactures commercial aircraft, civil helicopters, commercial vehicles, missiles, military aircraft, satellites, defence systems and defence electronics and the provision of services related to these activities. The Company operates through the following segments:- � Airbus: comprising the development, manufacturing, marketing and sale of commercial jet aircraft and aircraft for military use. � Military Transport: comprising the development, manufacturing, marketing and sale of military transport aircraft and special mission aircraft. � Eurocopter: comprising the development, manufacturing, marketing and sale of civil and military helicopters, and provision of maintenance services. � Defence & Security Systems: comprising the development, manufacturing, marketing and sale of missiles systems, military combat and training aircraft and the provision of defence electronics, defence-related telecommunications solutions � Astrium: Development, manufacturing, marketing and sale of satellites, orbital infrastructures and launchers and provision of space services. In 2005, the former Aeronautics segment, which included the Eurocopter, ATR, EFW, Socata and Sogerma Services business units was dissolved and a new Eurocopter segment was created.
